Many of the temples used as bases during Phuket’s famous Vegetarian Festival are within walking distance of each other and there is even wildlife downtown, on Monkey Hill. It is hard to separate Kata from its picture perfect white sandy beach. But there is a lot more to the place, what with colourful bars, countless restaurants and good shopping. Another good option for a couple of hours is the viewpoint up on the hill between Kata and Rawai and then you can always visit Kata’s Buddhist Temple on Patak Road while the kids’ favourite place has to be Dino Park.
Patong is the most famous beach resort in Phuket, With its wide variety of activities and nightlife, Patong is an ideal place to party and play. By night the town has a bustling nightlife which includes literally hundreds of restaurants, beer bars, Go Go Bars and of course nightclubs. You can see why the island is a hotspot for tourists in Thailand.
